1. The yellowtail bite at the Coronado Islands moves to the top pick this week with a big flood of 8 to 12 pound fish flooding up to the islands and showing in a good bite that has been getting better by the day this week. The fish are being targeting on three-quarter and full-day boats out of San Diego. Mid-week, light load trips have seen five-fish limits on these fish. For an update, check with 976-TUNA.com.

2. Quail Lake has busted wide open and is kind of a local secret. The bite has been good for bluegill, largemouth, stripers, and catfish this past week. In the top picks last week, the word got out and the fishing pressure jumped, but the action is still very good. The bluegill and bass are best along the south shoreline tules, while the stripers and catfish have been best at the aqueduct outlet and along the north shore to the inlet. For an update on this bite, check with Amaysing Fishing Bait & Tackle at 661-429-5824.

3. The Pyramid Lake striper bite stays in the top picks. Still lost of 10-fish limits of stripers around two pounds with some to five pounds this past week. The best bite has been on cut baits and lug worms, and there are also some catfish showing in this bite. For an update on this action, check with the Emigrant Landing entrance booth at 661-295-7155 or Tackle Express at 661-251-8700.
