HESPERIA LAKE: No report. Catfish season normally begins the end of April, but no information available. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: Trout bite was slow during the day, but good early and late. The best action has been on PowerBait (especially fluorescent orange, salmon peach and garlic), nightcrawlers and the usual array of small lures. Best spots include the northern and western shores of lake 2, and the eastern logged shore and western shore near the drain of lake 3. Anglers report very good bass bite on the northern and southern shores of lake 2 near the inlets and on lake 3 near the pump house. Jorge Poveda, Ontario, landed a 7-11 trout on a small jigs off the north shore of Lake 2. Bass are biting on Senkos, swim baits, and drop-shot night crawlers with fish weighing up to 4 pounds. A few bluegill starting to show, but still no catfish reports. For more information call (760)240-1107 or go to www.jessranchlakesnews.com.

MOJAVE NARROWS: No report. County trout plants ended the last week or March, and catfish season begins later this month. No recent DFW plants. Information, call 760-245-2226.
